Demopolis Office for Greene Releases

Greene County does not have its own ABPP field office. ABPP routes Greene County to the Demopolis Field Office, which serves Greene, Marengo, and Sumter counties. That is research angle R and it matters in practice. A family member may call the jail after a person leaves custody, but if the person is on parole, mandatory release, or ABPP-supervised probation, the supervision question belongs with ABPP and the Demopolis office.

Post-release supervision is not the same as release from jail. Someone released from Greene County Jail after a local misdemeanor sentence may have no ABPP record. Someone released from ADOC on parole or mandatory release may have ABPP supervision. A court-ordered probation case may also involve ABPP depending on sentence and case type.

Verify Greene Post-Release Supervision

A supervision check should start with the release type. Parole follows release from prison before the full sentence expires. Probation is court-ordered supervision that may be part of a sentence. Mandatory release is an Alabama state-prison release mechanism that can also involve ABPP supervision. None of those is the same as an online current-inmate listing.

1. Identify whether the person left Greene County Jail, ADOC, or another custody system.
2. Check the court case for probation orders, sentence terms, jail credit, and revocation entries.
3. Use ABPP hearing results if parole was considered.
4. Call Demopolis with identifying information if the person is believed to be under ABPP supervision.
5. Use the ABPP public-records page for records not available through public hearing or results pages.

Greene Parole Hearing Records

ABPP maintains scheduled parole hearings and current-year parole results. The results page explains that special conditions are in the minutes for the hearing date and that a reset date is the first month and year the person will be considered for future docket placement, not the date of a new hearing.

ABPP's parole FAQ says eligibility is calculated under Alabama Code Section 15-22-28(e), and that sentence, crime, jail credit, good time, time served, and court orders can affect eligibility. It also says a "set date" does not guarantee a hearing in that month. Those details help prevent the common mistake of treating an eligibility or set date as a release date.

Greene Absconder and Records Checks

Research angle J separates ordinary release from delinquent supervision. ABPP publishes an Absconder Alerts channel and directs people with information about listed persons to contact local law enforcement. Greene County research did not find a separate county absconder list in the sheriff app sources. Use ABPP for state supervision status, not the current jail app.

For public records, ABPP says request forms may be submitted through its public records requests process and by email at public.records@paroles.alabama.gov. Ask for a parole decision, supervision office if public, release-to-supervision date, delinquency or absconder status if public, and applicable minutes or result records. Note: Some supervision details may be limited by law or agency policy.

Mandatory Release in Greene Supervision

ABPP's FAQ describes mandatory release as a state-prison supervision path for certain offenses committed on or after January 30, 2016. It says the statute excludes individuals convicted of a sex offense involving a child and people serving life sentences, and that ADOC determines the mandatory release date within statutory ranges before coordinating supervision with ABPP. For Greene County readers, the practical point is that mandatory release is not a sheriff 24-hour release list and not a county jail roster event.

If a person is released from ADOC on mandatory release and returns to Greene County supervision, the Demopolis Field Office is the local ABPP route. The court case may still matter because sentence terms, jail credit, and later revocation entries can affect the timeline. The sheriff may confirm an earlier county jail booking or transfer, but ABPP and ADOC control the state-prison release-to-supervision record.

Call Jail or Demopolis?

Use the jail for the original booking, release date, release order, and transfer note. Use Demopolis for state supervision after release. Use the court for probation orders and sentence terms. That split keeps a supervision call focused and avoids asking the wrong office to confirm a record it did not create.

If a person was released on bond and has no state supervision, Demopolis may have no role. If the person was released from ADOC on parole or mandatory release, Demopolis may be the local reporting office. If the person is listed as an absconder, use ABPP's alert channel and local law enforcement contact instructions.

ABPP Release Scheduling Limits

ABPP states that release after a parole grant depends on home-plan verification and coordination with ADOC. For Greene County, that means the hearing result, release scheduling, and first local reporting step may occur at different times and in different records.
