The official OCV manifest identifies the app as the Greene County (AL) Sheriff's Office Mobile App and lists an "Inmates" feature. The app marketing page says users can search for inmates within the county jail and access information about their arrest. That language points to current custody and arrest information, not a retained release list. During research, the public feed behind the inmate route returned an empty array and no official 24-hour, 48-hour, or 72-hour release window was found.
That makes the app useful but limited. A current listing can support the conclusion that the person is still in county custody. A missing listing does not show release date, release reason, or destination. The sheriff's records path remains the stronger source for a released Greene County jail detainee.

Use Greene App for Release Checks
The app path is best used as the first current-custody check. If the person appears, the release has not occurred from the public custody view. If the person does not appear, the next steps depend on whether the last known custody was county jail, ADOC, federal, or immigration custody.
- Open the Greene County Sheriff's Office app page or the official inmates page.
- Search the inmate feature by the person's name if the app exposes the search screen.
- Compare identifiers and arrest details. Do not rely on a name match alone.
- If no result appears, ask the sheriff's office for the order and date of release from the county jail record.
- If the sheriff record shows transfer, follow the receiving system: ADOC, BOP, ICE, or another jail.

Ask for the person's booking or jail record, release date, release type, charge, arresting agency, and whether the release was to the community, bond, court, ADOC, another county, USMS, ICE, or another agency.
The app's Contact Us feature may route a message, but the public-record request should be precise. Include the person's full name, date of birth if known, approximate booking date, and case number if available. For a court disposition or bond order, use the Greene County Circuit Clerk or Alacourt. For notification, use VINE only where the agency feeds the custody event.
Greene Custody vs Release Records
Current custody and release history are different data sets. The app can show someone in custody if the sheriff's data is published and current. The release record is an official event record showing how county custody ended. A transfer may remove the person from Greene County's channel while the person remains held elsewhere.

None of those facts supplies a release date.
If a person is urgent to locate, ask the sheriff whether the person is in custody, released, or transferred. Then follow the destination system named by the sheriff's record.
Greene App Photo Caution
The research did not prove that the Greene app feed publishes booking photos when populated. Treat any app photo as current arrest information only, then request the official booking or release record when release status is the real question.
